- Only rule- don't eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the middle of the garden
- 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die'
- The serpent (devil) tricked Eve into eating from the tree
- 'You will not certainly die for God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil'
- Eve convinced Adam to eat from the tree aswell
- They now both had embarrassment, anger and sadness in them
- They now knew of good and evil
- 'I was afraid because I was naked'
- God banished both Adam and Eve from the garden of Eden and took away their eternal life
- 'Cursed is the ground because of you'
- 'By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return'
- God still loved them though, and so sent down Jesus to die on the cross and forgive all sin
