- Buddhists believe that animals should be respected since they are part of the cycle of samsara.
- The first moral precept states that we 'should not harm any living thing'. If we do, we have bad karma and a negative rebirth.

- misusing the senses
- intoxicants that cloud the mind

- We would be harming relatives from a past life if we harm animals

- Christians believe in stewardship which means looking after the planet on behalf of God. Humans are God's stewards because God told them to guard and cultivate the earth.
- Christians feel a sense of awe and wonder about the natural world.
- Awe means a feeling of amazement.
- Wonder means questioning how something so beautiful could exist.
- 'God saw all that He had made and it was good'.
- Buddhists believe that harming the planet is wrong and brings about bad karma.
- The Eightfold path is the path to enlightenment according to Buddhists. By following the path, they can also reduce the amount of suffering in the world.
- There is no Buddhist creation story since they say that you could think about it for a lifetime and never reach an answer.

- 'Thou shalt not kill'
- Christians believe that life begins at conception.
- SANCTITY OF LIFE
- The belief that all life is sacred and God gave us all life, giving no one the right to take it away.
- People are made in God's image
- 'Be fruitful and multiply'
- Christians believe that babies are a miracle and a gift from God. Abortion is ok if the mother's life is in danger.
- Buddhists believe that life has already begun and that the soul is reincarnated into another body if the baby is aborted. However, abortion is possible bad karma.

- 'Blessed are the peacemakers'-Matthew 5:9
- 'Love thy neighbour'
- 'Do not kill'
- War is only acceptable if it is a just war, according to Christians.
- Buddhists are pacifists and believe that war goes against the forsts mortal preceprt. They may fight in self defence though.

- The Buddha taught about kindness and right mindfulness (eightfold path)
- Buddhists are pacifists.
- Pacifism is the belief that any violence, including war, is unjustifiable under any circumstances, and that all disputes should be settled by peaceful means.

- Jesus taught about love,kindness and respect.
- 'Love thy neigbour'
- The golden rule is to treat others as you would like to be treated.
