        • 1750s - 1850s Scottish Highlanders evicted from their land + land given to English Landlords
      • Causes
        • King George I wanted to get rid of opposition
        • Highland Scots were Gaelic + supporters of the Jacobite Princes
      • Consequence
        • Short Term - Scottish families became poor + starving
        • Short Term - Broke up clans and members felt betrayed that chief did not protect
        • Long Term - Highlanders emigrated to British Colonies or became explorers
        • Long Term - Scottish engineers contributed greatly to the country they settled in
    • Ugandan Asians Migration
      • Events
        • 1972 - Amin declared that all Asians without an  Ugandan passport would be expelled
        • 1960s - Ugandan Asians discriminated and decided that living in Britain was safer
      • Causes
        • Asians migrated to Uganda to help out construction in the colony
        • Idi Amin declared himself as President of Uganda
          • Did not like Ugandan Asians
      • Consequence
        • Short Term - Reluctance to let Ugandan Asians into Britain by Parliament
        • Short Term - Services stretched and cities not wanting more migrants
        • Long Term - Successful integration + diversifies British culture
