  • Effect of exercise on tidal volume- Core Practical
    • Variables
      • Independent
        • Exercise completed
      • Dependent
        • Tidal volume
      • Control
        • Time exercise is completed for
          • So the results for different exercises can be compared
        • Temperature
          • Higher the temperature can affect the rate of respiration
        • Volume of soda lime
          • This will remove CO2 'created in respiration'
    • Method
      • 1. Set up an area for exercise
      • 2. Place the respirometer in the athletes mouth and start exercising for 5 minutes
      • 3. Measure how much oxygen has been used and work out tidal volume
      • 4. Repeat the experiment 3 times for each exercise and repeat for different exercises
    • Equiptment
      • Respirometer
      • Athlete
