  • Ecosystems
    • what is an ecosystem and features of an ecosystem
      • an ecosystem is any group of living organisms and nonliving things occurring together and the interrelationships between them
      • the components of an ecosystem are
        • habitats= the places where organisms live
        • a population=all of the organisms that live in the same place at the same time and can breed
        • a community=all the populations of different species who live in the same place at the same time and can interact with each other
      • the role that each species plays in the ecosystem is called its niche
        • as the niche covers a wider range of factors it is impossible for two different species to occupy the same niche
        • depending on their niche organisms can affect each other these are known as biotic factors  these ways are
          • competing for food
          • predation
          • spreading diseases
          • paratsicum
        • however their are other factors to do with non living factors that can affect an niche these are abiotic factors which are
          • pH
          • changes in temperature
          • weather
          • soil type
