    • Definition
      • An employee code of conduct consists of rules drawn up by the senior management or their advisors that set out what an employee is/ is not allowed to do in the course of their employment with regards to computers.
      • It also details the sanctions which will be applied should the employee not obey the rules.
    • Potential Problems
      • Using an organisations hardware for personal use.
      • Using company time for personal emails or social networking.
      • Misuse of data for their own business.
      • Use of company data for illicit purposes.
      • Violating terms of copyright or software agreements by downloading illegal software onto the system.
