  • diabetes
    • type one diabetes
    • if blood sugars to high the pancreas will realese the hormone insulin
      • hormones are produced in the endocrine gland or endocrine system.---
    • occurs usually in obese people , elderly , people who lack excersise - type 2 diabetes can lead to -strokes -heart attacks and more health complications
    • type 2 diabetes happens when the body cannot produce enough insulin and the body stops responding to it.
      • type 2 diabetes
        • occurs usually in obese people , elderly , people who lack excersise - type 2 diabetes can lead to -strokes -heart attacks and more health complications
  • how do you get type one diabetes?
    • type one diabetes is genetic - children will usaly be diagnosed
    • type one diabetes cant usually be cured , scientist are thinking of using stem cells however there is no proof that stem cells can be cured, usually people inject themselves with insulin before and after eating
      • regular meals with low carbohydrates will have a positive effect on people with type one diabetes this is a good treatment as well as exercise
    • type one diabetes usually happens because the pancrous does not produce enough insulin
    • symptoms include : being thirsty, producing lots of urine , lack of energy and tiredness as fats and protein gets converted into gucose
  • here are some cures for type one diabetes but risks
    • pancreas transplants but these are -risky -difficult -lack of donors -immunosuppresent drugs
      • transplant pancreatic cells from both dead and living doctors
    • genetic engineering from both dead and living donors
  • type 2 diabetes treatments-
    • do 30 mins exercise a day and calories deflect of -500 cals from regular diet
      • loose weight and eat a balanced diet
    • drugs that help insulin work better
    • drugs that help the pancreas produce more insulin
    • reduce absorption of glucose thru small intestine
