- Animals such as a snail have a hard skeleton on the outside. This is called the external skeleton and is made out of chitin.
- Animals such as fish and frogs have a skeleton inside their body.This is called an internal skeleton. It is made from cartilage or bone
- Internal skeleton
- It grows as we grow.
- It allows muscles to be easily attached.
- It has many joints to give flexibility.
- It is made from living tissue such as bones cells, cartilage and blood cells.
- Repair and growth of bones.
- When bones and cartilage is damaged they can become infected with microorganisms
