  • Atomic Structure
    • Middle of Atom
      • Small Nucleus
        • Contains 2 types of particles - Protons and Neutrons.
    • Protons
      • Positive charge (+1)
      • No of protons in each atomic called its atomic number
        • Elements in the periodic table are arranged in order of atomic number
    • Neutrons
      • No Charge (0)
        • Because Atom has equal numbers of Protons and Neutrons - the charge evens out to create no charge.
      • No of neutrons + protons = Mass number
        • So if a atom has 4 protons and 8 neutrons it's mass no will be 12.
