      • Empire consisted of numerous kingdoms and provinces.
      • When Musa died, the empire slowly shrunk.

      • Before the Slave Trade, there were many links between European countries and Africa
      • Europe recognized that Africa was more advanced than their own.
    • Ancient Egypt
      • First developed over 5000 years ago.
      • Had one of the first monarchies in the world.
      • Known for its great monuments and Pyramids.
      • They developed the calendar.
      • Discovered how the body relied on the brain 1000 years before the Greeks.
