        • Feminists believe they should be  entitled to the same reproductive freedom as men.
        • Thomson "while I do argue that abortion is not impermissible, I do not argue that it is always permissible"
        • Criticisms of feminist views
          • Some women may abort a baby without the man's knowledge -  it is also his child
          • Abortions can have negative effects on a woman's mental health
    • Slippery slope argument
      • one small decision can lead to a chain of related events that can have a negative impact on society
      • Wyatt argues : "the reality of the current situation in the UK is that abortion is available for most women on request"
    • Kantian ethics
      • Believes that if abortion is acceptable on one set of circumstances, then it should be accepted universally
        • If the foetus has moral status then abortion is immoral
