What is the Poem about?
The Poem is about a photographer who comes back from a trip and puts the images he took in a dark room for them to expose then he thinks of war, England, a man dying and his wife crying.

Cyclical Structure
The Poem starts with the photographer coming back from a trip and at the end the photographer is going on a trip, trying to make an impact but others just have a minute cry and forget about it.

Internal Rhyme
"tear" "beers" this quickens the reading pace showing how easy and quick others can forget about war.

Plosives
"Belfast. Beirut. Phenom Pen" This has a fast pace to them like gun fire plus there is a use of caesura (full stops). What we may want to do is quickly go through the names but we are suppose to stop and think.

Caesura
"Rural England" is separated by the talk of war by caesura and this shows how people separate themselves from war as in not care.

The Poem is criticising our lack to stop and think of the nature and impact of war.
