Transport in cells.

?
Diffusion
Net movement of particles from an are of high concentration to an area of low concentration, describes movement of fluid(liquids and gases),particles move randomly.Substances move in and out of cells across the cell membrane.
1 of 6
Carbon dioxide.
Diffuses from the bloodstream into the lungs during cell respiration.Oxygen diffuses from the lungs and into the bloodstream.
2 of 6
Urea.
Waste product of cells diffuses from cells into blood for excretion by kidneys.
3 of 6
Sugar absorption in guts.
Sugar is absorbed into the blood from the gut, even when concentration of sugar is high in the bloodstream(needed for cell respiration).
4 of 6
Mineral absorption in plants.
Root hairs of plants absorb mineral ions which are necessary for healthy growth, even though concentration of mineral gradient lower in the soil than the root hairs.
5 of 6
Osmosis.
Special case of diffusion where only water molecules move, requires partially permeable membrane.
