English philosopher in the 17th century, was best known for his book Leviathan and his political views on society.

In the beginning man lived in the state of nature. Men had no government and there was no law to regulate them.

How Hobbes define Equality ?
Everyone is equal in rights and the ability to survive in the state of nature. Within the state of nature, men have no more rights than women.

What is the Law of Nature ?
A general rule discovered by reason that forbids a person from doing anything destructive to her own life, gives her the right of self-preservation.

What means "Leviathan" ?
It is described as an artificial person whose body is made up of all the bodies of its citizen, who are the literal members of the Leviathan's body. The power of the Leviathan protects them from the abuses of one another.
