Chomsky (LAD - Language Acquisition Device)
- Pick up the language through the course of time, under/extension of 'ED' on past tense verbs (Wented instead of Went) - not imitation. Easier to pick up a language. Does not consider social interactions

- Relies on more knowledgeable others (Parents + Teachers etc). Reinforces CDS (Child Directed Speech). Pragmatics taught through interaction with adults.

- Children and adults work together until child grows independently in their language. Child when playing helps with their cognitive, imaginative and social development.

- Simpler vocabulary, concrete lexis to objects within the child's eyesight, repetition (child is able to learn the word), questions (engage the child/interests the child), higher pitch, slower and clearer pronounciation
