Paris Peace conference- When did it happen?
The Paris peace conference happened when the three victorious countries of WW1 sent out representatives to Paris to a peace conference to decide the fate of Germany. There were three representatives from France, UK and the USA. The date was 1919

The Big three, the main three powers at the conference did not agree with all their aims due to how they'd been affected during the war.

David Lloyd George- Britain
Wanted to appear to be harsh on Germany as this is what the public wanted, but before the war Germany was Britain's 2nd biggest trading partner, so they wouldn't want to cripple them too badly.

Georges Clemenceau- France
Wanted to cripple Germany, most of the war had been fought on french soil and the French people wanted revenge. He wanted to prevent another attack from Germany by regaining Alsace-Lorraine, disarming Germany and making them pay reparations.

Woodrow Wilson- USA
He came up with a 14 point plan to ensure peace. When he first came up with it Germany ignored it and carried on fighting. All he wanted was peace, he thought this would work if his fourteen point plan was followed.
