Wages for the workers rose significantly in a government attempt to raise moral. This lead shopkeepers to raise there prices. And so inflation increased.
Workers were forced to work longer hours and their wages fell below the inflation rate. Average prices doubled and wages only rose by 50 to 75%.
Workers were making the unemployment rate double. Prices fell and thousands of shops were bankrupted across the country.
Inflation had little impact on civilians and the economy as the government had put in measures to control it.
