What is the design argument?
An attempt to prove God is real. Complex things need a creator they do not just happen by chance.

What is the Anthropic principle?
There is too much evidence of design it can't happen by chance. Universe shows order and design this can't happen by chance. The laws of nature are too precise to be a fluke. The designer is God!

Strengths of the design argument
The argument is easy and simple to understand.
Evolution and the big band could fit into the theory.
Fine tuning can't be a fluke- gravity, speed of light, if this changed even a tiny bit the world wouldn't have been how we know it.

Weaknesses of the design argument
It might not be the bible God.
Fossil records show that many species have gone extinct or died off- why would a God creator make such mistakes.

More weaknesses
The universe is unique so we can't make assumptions about how it came about.
Could be more than one designer, a team of designers.
The presence of evil and suffering in the world contradicts the "loving God" of the bible.
