Cells that can differentiate to many different types of cell

What was the big scientific breakthrough by scientists in 1998?
Stem cells could be used to form other types of cell needed in the body therefore, for example, being able to cure paralysed people by reconnecting damaged spinal chords

What is the ethical concern with using embronic stem cells?
Using stem cells from an embryo is using human beings to cure others - many people (especially religious groups) believe that this is wrong as it is a violation of human rights

What is therapeutic cloning?
Cloning by transferring the nucleus of an adult cell to an empty egg to produce tissues or organs which could be used in medicine
