What are the different types of Conformity?
Compliance, Internalisation, Identification.

What is Compliance?
A person agrees in public with a group of people, but privately disagrees with the group's viewpoint or behaviour.

What is Internalisation?
Publicly changing behavior to fit in with the group while also agreeing with them privately.

What is Identification?
Someone conforms to the demands of a given social role in society.

What is Normative Influence?
The desire to be liked. People conform to fit in with a group because they do not want to appear foolish or be left out.

What is Informative Influence?
The desire to be right. People conform because they lack knowledge so they look for others who they believe may have more information than us.

How many participants per group were there is Asch's Line Study?
5-7 people per group.

What happened in Asch's Line Study?
Each group was presented with a standard line and three comparison lines. Participants had to say aloud which comparison line matched the standard line in length. In each group there was only one real participant the remaining 6 were confederates.
