what does advent mean?
advent means coming.

what objects are used at advent?
christingle candle, advent candle and advent wreath.

significance of Advent calender?
the calender counts down the days of advent. it has nativity scenes on the doors and also biblical references. there is also an advent picture on the front of the calender.

what does each part of the christingle candle mean?
an orange represents the world, the red ribbon represents blood of christ, the lighted candle represents the light of the world.

significance of advent wreath?
evergreen represents eternity. the four candles represent the four sundays of advent.

what was the first tempation?
'turn stones into bread' after fasting for forty days jesus was hungry.

what was jesus' reply to the first temptation?
man shall not live on bread alone.

what was the second temptation?
if you are the son of god, throw yourself down, god will command his angels and they will lift you up in their hands.

he said that he was not going to be with them very longer and that this would be his last passover meal

it was a large room, upstairs and they found the room prepared.

what is the story of the lost son?
father has two sons. the youngest son wants his inheritence immediately. he wastes it all and ends up feeding pigs. he goes back to his father and asks for his forgivness. fathers accepts and forgives his son.

what happens to the elder brother in the lost son?
the eldest son is well behaved throughout yet is not happy about the celebration of his rebelious son. he is proud and rebellious.

which does each character represent in the lost son?
the father represents god (forgiving people) youngest son represents a sinner (asks for forgiveness) eldest son represents a proud jew who cant recognise other peoples achievement.

what is apartheid ?
it is the seperation between placks and white (different buses and loos etc.) the blacks if they had a job it would be a cleaner or low paid.
