Photosynthesis equation
Carbon dioxide + water → (sunlight & chlorophyll) → glucose + oxygen
1 of 6
Mesophyll tissue
Where most of the photosynthesis happens
2 of 6
Xylem & phloem
Transport water, mineral ions & sucrose around the plant
3 of 6
Epidermal tissue
Covers the whole plant
4 of 6
What is photosynthesis?
Process that produces glucose using sunlight for plants & algae. The glucose acts as food for the plant.
5 of 6
Chlorophyll
Absorbs sunlight & uses its energy to convert carbon dioxide from the air & water from the soil into glucose. Oxygen is produced as a by-product.
