who is lennie small?
lennie is harmless giant, despite his physical violence he is likened to a bear due to his strength softness and innocence lennie doesnt have morality and has deep rooted emotional needs which need to be satified by petting they lead to tragedydream

he is the ranches 'stable buck' who is a cripple and tends to the horses. he is inteligent as he reads factual books bu also recieves racial prejudice and violence.his automatic rejection and judgement from friendships leaves him lonely.

having inteligent awareness of life, he is balck so this changes alot of how ranch workers see him, he has not many rights and cant join in with the ordinary lifestyle of the ranchworkers due to his race/continous discrimination.he is lonely isolated

only women on the ranch and is not trated as an individual. shes seen as '*********' by the ranch workers and a trouble maker she

whats the reality for curleys wife?
she is undervalued and due to her desire to be admired she is seen as '*********' she suffers from loneliness and womens rights. she had no choice when marrying curley and wishs to be in the movies/pictures and she sees her vanity in the hollywood.

who is candy?
known as the old swamper. hes coming to the end of is useful life and has little to look forward to. he also looses his only friend which is his dog. he's disabled.

joins in with lennie and georges american dream and suffers from the loss of his dog this puts emphasis on loneliness. Like george his better lifestyle of hopes are shattered by lennie

who is curley?
curly is a small man who like his wife causes trouble on the ranch inparticular with lennie, where his agressive behaviour and takes a chance to pick a fight on the weak he maintains his authority and staus through violence.

whats the outcome for curley good or bad hows it contrasted with curleys wife and everyone else on the ranch?
he used to be a proffessional fighter, so for him reality is at a high because he will inherit the ranch from his father and have a family with his wife

he is seen as majestic and like the prince of the ranch he has a high status as hes in charge of the bucking barley teams. he exerts friendliness and gentleness which contrasts well with the rest of the ranch and the violence. hes seen as moral force

steinbecks description of him suggest an idealised charicterisation, hes convincingly realistic through his actions and how he seems to not judge people, hes represented with loyalty and divinty.
