  • a behaviour is strengthened when followed by reinforcement or weakened when followed by punishment. (7, 12)
  • classically conditioned Little Albert to fear a white rat. Albert was presented with the rat over a period of seven days. Everytime the rat came close to Albert two metal bars were banged together to frighten him. After the seventh day just the prese (6, 3, 6)
  • Client deliberatly thinks about their obsessive thought, not letting it leave thier mind, until it overwhelmes them and no longer has any effect on them. (11, 8)
  • Client is put into a sitatuion which shows them that their anxious thoughts aren't real in reality (7, 7)
  • meta analysis showed 75% of patients improved with psychodynamic therapy. (4, 3, 7)
  • Patient doesn't know behaviour is abnormal (9, 9)
  • Patient knows behaviour is abnormal (8, 9)
  • strong irrational fear of a specific object or situation. (8, 6)
  • The mind disguises unconscious desires behind symbols while we sleep. These symbols which appear to us can be recalled. The patient recalls these symbols to a therapist and the therapist helps them work out what they represent. Psychdynamic therapist (5, 8)
  • The phobia is consciously discussed and then the client is encouraged to report whatever comes to mind without thinking( to get to the unconscious). The psychoanalyst then helps the client interpret the words into a pattern and relates them to uncons (4, 11)
