What are T1 and T2 scans?
T1- weighted anatomical, structural image of the whole head in very high detail (mm res); T2- weighted BOLD data  functional mapping, coarser detail, multiple images every 2/3 secs
1 of 5
What scans are typically collected during a study?
Survey (initial image for planning), Reference (calibrates scanner), T1, T2
2 of 5
fMRI provides 4D images, what are the dimensions?
Volume (3D image made of slices), slices (2D image), Voxel (1-3mm pixels), Time (the repetition time = time takes to collect all slices in a whole volume =2/3 s)
3 of 5
What is the HRF?
The haemodynamic response function is the predictable BOLD response of a voxel to stim
4 of 5
What does the HRF look like?
small initial dip, followed by a tall peak, and then a variable post-stimulus undershoot.
