A week course that deals with human awareness, sentencing and running a criminal court. Inferior Judges also spend a week shadowing an experienced before sitting.

Are Judges Representative of the Community?
Described as White, Middle Aged, Upper Class Males. Unusual for a judge to be under 40 and most Superior judges are well above this. Very few women and even fewer ethic minorities.

Theory of Separation of Powers
Stated to work properly, each function should be kept separate. Executive - Government who propose law. Legislature - Parliament who make law. Judiciary - Judges who enforce law.

Are Judges Independent?
Free From: Executive, Legislature, Pressure, Case

Government cannot dismiss a Judge, therefore they can make laws that do not please Government

A full time Judge cannot be a member of the House of Commons
