Force and acceleration

?
What are the contact forces?
Friction, reaction, push, upthrust
1 of 9
What are the action at a distance forces?
Magnetism, weight, electrostatic
2 of 9
What is Newton's first law?
If there is no net force acting on an object it will remain at rest or travel with uniform velocity (i.e. constant speed in a straight line). When the net force acting is zero, we say the object is in equilibrium
3 of 9
What is Newton's second law?
Acceleration is proportional to the resultant force applied
4 of 9
What is the equation for resultant force?
resulttant force = mass x acceleration
5 of 9
What is the unit for resultant force?
N
6 of 9
What is the unit for mass?
kg
7 of 9
What is the unit for acceleration?
m/s2
8 of 9
What is inertia?
A measure of how difficult it is to accelerate an object. The more massive the object, the more inertia it has. Bigger mass means a smaller acceleration for the same force
