What are treaties?
International agreements, must be agreed by all member states, agreed executively by gov., taken into account by parl.

What do they sometimes require?
referendums. Also text is negotiated by the governments of all member states- called intergovernmental conference.

What are regulations and directives?
R- Directly applicable without further action. D- Need to be transposed into national lawMade using 'ordinary legislature procedure' of Article 294 TFEU (Co-decision)

That is the process?
Commission makes a proposal, along the lines suggested by the European Council, passes to the European parliament, if they approve it is passed to the Council of Ministers, if they approve it it becomes law

What are the roles of different institutions?
The commission represents the EU interest: proposes legislation and policy. honestly just use the handout for this bit
