Is the type of cell division undertaken for animals and plant growth, and replacement of old and damaged cells.

Is a type of cell division responsible for producing gametes (egg and sperm cells). In humans this type of division only takes place in reproductive organs (testes and ovaries).

Stem cells are undifferentiated cells and have no specialized features or specific functions and can be specialized to become any type of cell .
