What is diffusion?
Diffusion is the net movement of particles from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration
1 of 5
Is diffusion a passive or active process?
Passive (it uses no energy)
2 of 5
Why does active transport need energy from respiration?
It takes energy to move particles against the concentration gradient
3 of 5
What is a simple definition of osmosis?
Diffusion for water (the net movement of particles from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration)
4 of 5
Name three places where active transport occurs.
Root hairs, villi (in the intestine), blood capillaries
