Parliament debated a vote of no confidence in health Minister Jeremy Hunt in 2015 after E-petition reached 100,000 signatures supported by Doctors and Nurses of the NHS.

Focus groups used for Department of Education in 2014 to look at revised standards for food in state schools in the UK.

California: Initiatives, referendums. Switzerland: peoples initiatives, proposals to ban smoking in public places. Ancient Athens: 500 citizens put forward each year to make decisions, also used town hall style meetings.
