The Media: Religion and Society

The media mentions immigration frequently and saying how immigrants take the British jobs. Newspaper's also mention, quite critically, how asylum seekers are allowed into the country and stay even if they've done punishable crimes

Multi faith society

Most towns/cities have different places of worship showing they're welcoming; churches and mosques

Christians believe they have the right to convert people and they also believe being a Christian is the only way to get into heaven

Muslim's don't usually like to convert people but it's a sin in Islam to reject the religion to take up another faith

Interfaith marriages

Is usually disapproved of. Benefites are that it gives and insight into different religions but the disadvantages would be that two different religions have both seperate views which can cause arguments

Sex discrimination

Women were found among Jesus' follwers and he treated them with respect but many churches don't allow female priests. The Qur'an teaches that men and women are equal
