At what temperature is water at its most dense point?
4 degrees Celsius or 39.2 Fahrenheit

Why does a solid have a fixed shape but a liquid doesn't?
In a liquid, the particles still touch their neighbours (like they would a solid) but they move around, sliding over each other. This is why you can pour, but not compress, a liquid.
3 of 7
In which state are the particles only able to vibrate in a fixed position?
A Solid

Why can small insects walk on water?
Because water has a high surface tension, allowing small insects to walk on its surface

When 100 grams of water is boiled, what mass of steam is made?
100 grams of steam would be produced because of the conservation of mass. No mass would be lost because all the molecules of water are still there.
