What is Covalent Bonding?
Shares one pair of electrons in a single covalent bond. They are strong bonds and the substances may be small molecules, very large molecules or giant covalent structures.

What is Metallic Bonding?
Built up layer upon layer I regular patterns. They are giant structures. The electrons in the outer shell of metal atoms are delocalised and free to move throughout the structure.

What do Ionic Compounds have?
Regular structures called giant ionic lattices

Ionic compounds have high melting and boiling points
Ionic compounds conduct electricity when molten or dissolved in water

Weak forces between each molecule
