What is the definition for Mitosis?
Mitosis - A form of asexual reproduction in which the cells divide into two creating a replica, with an equal number of chromosomes in each, resulting in diploid cells.

Meiosis - A type of cellular reproduction in which the number of chromosomes are reduced by half through the separation of homologous chromosomes, producing two haploid cells.

What is DNA?
DNA carries the genetic code that determines the characteristics of the living organism.

What are chromosomes?
Chromosomes are based in the cell nucleus. These are long threads of DNA which contain genes.

A gene is a section of DNA that codes for specific protein. It is the unit of heredity, and may be copied and passed onto the next generation.
