Test for Sugar
dd 2cm3 of Benedicts Solution and heat carefully in water bath. Color change: Blue to Green to Brick red

Test for starch
Add iodine to the solution in the test tube. Color change: brown to blue/black

Test for protein
Add Biurets solution to the solution Color change: Blue to purple

Test for fat
Add 2cm3 of ethanol to test tube and shake. Add 2cm3 of water to test tube and shake again. Colour change Clear to cloudy white emulsion

Test for Vitamin C
Add 1cm3 of DCPIP to test tube. Add fruit juice dropwise using a pipette to the DCPIP. Count the number of drips it takes for solution to turn blue to pink to colourless. The fewer drops required for colour change to occur the more Vitamin C present.
