DNA & Inheritance
1 of 8
DNA is made up of molecules called nucleotides. Each nucleotide contains a phosphate group, a sugar group and a nitrogen base. The four types of nitrogen bases are adenine (A), thymine (T), guanine (G) and cytosine (C).
These 23 pairs of chromosomes are known as nuclear DNA because, with the exception of red blood cells, they reside in the nucleus of every cell in our body. The 23rd chromosome is known as the sex chromosome.

. As with the other chromosomes, one is inherited from the father, and one from the mother. Each cell in the body contains 23 pairs of chromosomes. One chromosome from each pair is inherited from your mother and one is inherited from your father.
cells
3 of 8
A cell is the smallest unit of life that can replicate independently, and cells are often called the "building blocks of life". The study of cells is called cell biology.
Cells consist of cytoplasm enclosed within a membrane, which contains many bio molecules such as proteins and nucleic acids.
4 of 8
Tissues
tissue is a cellular organizational level between cells and a complete organ. A tissue is an ensemble of similar cells and their extracellular matrix from the same origin that together carry out a specific function.
5 of 8
Organs are then formed by the functional grouping together of multiple tissues.Cell Differentiation and Tissue. Within multicellular organisms, tissues are organized communities of cells that work together to carry out a specific function.
Organs
6 of 8
Organ, in biology, a group of tissues in a living organism that have been adapted to perform a specific function. In higher animals, organs are grouped into organ systems; e.g., the esophagus, stomach, and liver are organs of the digestive system.
Circulation
7 of 8
Systemic circulation is the portion of the cardiovascular system which transports oxygenated blood away from the heart through the aorta from the left ventricle where the blood has been previously deposited from pulmonary circulation,
to the rest of the body, and returns oxygen-depleted blood back to the heart
