Stewardship
The religious belief that believers have been entrusted with taking care of the Earth of God's behalf.

Harming/mistreating animals in a way that would be seen as morally wrong.

The total loss of all members of a species of animal, often caused by humans.

Behaviour, usually of animals, which is automatic and not consciously thought about before it is done.

The religious belief that humans have an immortal part inside them, a spiritual body.

Transgenic animal
An animal which has had a foreign gene inserted. A method of genetic modification. Can produce substances with medical benefits.

The ability to feel, percieve and experience subjectively. An ability of humans and not believed of animals.

The Catholic belief that humans have full control over the Earth and can use it and it's resources as they please.

Vegetarian
A person who does not eat meat or fish, some may use and eat other animal products. Due to personal, health, moral or religious reasons.

Vegan
A person who does not eat any products from anials or fish. Often due to strong beliefs against animal cruelty.

Ritual slaughter
The Islamic method of killing animals for food which is believed to be morally acceptable. Involves slitting the throat, avoiding the spinal cord. Must be done by a Muslim.

Pescatarian
A person who does not eat meat but does eat fish and can have other animal products.
