a society where change is increasingly rapid and uneven and individual identities become more diverse

a family which is more diverse with fewer traditional rules and norms. members construct their own ideal family and pick the roles and structures to suit them

a family which varies in size and roles depending on the needs and wishes of the members who have more say. it is less stable as members leave if their needs arent met

a family which is unable to provide security in an unstable society because of its own insecurities which have come from society being unstable and spontaneous
