• Rainforests only cover 2% of earth's surface, but around 50% of earths animals and plants live in them.
• They have around about 2000mm of annual rainfall.
• the shrub layer gets 2% sunlight so plants have to adapt to live without sunlight.
• 50% of animals live in the canopy layer for sunlight and food, and the weakest animals (cant climb or fly) die.
