SOME MEDICINES JUST RELIEVE SYMPTOMS

1. PAINKILERS-drugs that relieve pain. However don't tackle the cause/kill pathogens they just help reduce symptoms.

2. other drus do similar reducing how severe the symptoms are or how long they last for, without tackling the underlinging cause e.g. 'cold remedies' don't cure colds.

3.Although these drugs do not help to cure the disease, they can still be usedto ease a persons suffering while their body fights it off

AND SOME MEDICINES CAN TREAT THE DISEASE

1)Sometimes the body might not be able to fight off a disease on its own. In this case, it might be nessasary to use medicines that target the underlining cause of a disease.

2) e.g. drugs which kill or disable pathogens can be used to treat or control diseases.
