LARGE MULTICELLULAR ORGANISMS are made up of ORGAN SYSTEMS
SIMILAR CELLS are organised into TISSUES
TISSUES are organised into ORGANS
ORGANS are organised into ORGAN SYSTEMS
ENZYMES are CATALYSTS that spped up reactions
Chemical reactions involve things being split apart or joined. Enzymes have an active site with a unique shape that fits onto the substance involved in the reaction.
Enzymes need to RIGHT TEMPERATURE and PH. If it is too hot the enzyme may become denatured and again this would happen if the pH is too high or too low.
CARBOHYDRASES convert carbohydrates into SIMPLE SUGARS
PROTEASES convert proteins into AMINO ACIDS
LIPASES convert lipids into FATTY ACIDS
Use the BENEDICTS TEST to test for SUGARS
Use IODINE SOLUTION to test for STARCH
Use the BIURET TEST to test for PROTEINS
Use the SUDAN III TEST to test for LIPIDS
The lungs are in the thorax. The air that is breathed in goes through the tranchea which splits into two tubes called the bronchi going to each lung. The bronchi split into bronchioles where the alveoli is which si where gas exchange takes place.
Breathing rate per minuite = number of breaths / number of minutes
The circulatory system consists of the heart, blood vessels and blood.
THE HEART- The blood flows into the two atria from the vena cava and the pulmanary vein. The atria contract pushing the blood into the ventricles. The ventricles contract forcing the blood into the pulmonary artery and the aorta and out of the heart. The blood flows to the organs through arteries and returns through veins. The artia fill again and the whole cycle starts over.
BLOOD VESSELS- There are arteries, capilliaries and veins.ARTERIES- Carry blood under pressure. The heart pumps the blood at a high pressure meaning the walls of arteries are strong and elastic and…
