EGO - reality
- Acts as a regulator betwween the ID and the real world
- Works out alternatives to obtaining something pleasurable without repercussions
- ID satisfied but in a way that suits the real world
- REFEREE
SUPEREGO - morality
- Use the morals and values learned from their parents and other influentical people
- Controls impulses of the ID
- Can cause the ego to have goals which are high in morals
- Superego can persuade the ego to aim for perfection…
