Assumptions: Proposed a different way in which people learn: throug hobservation and imitation of others. Learning occures directly, through classical and operant conditioning, but also indirectly.
Vicarious reinforcement: Tendency to repeat behaviours for which others are being rewarded.
Mediational process: Cognitive factors that influence learning and come between stimulus and response.
- Attention is the extent to which we notice specific behaviours.
- Retention is how well the behaviour is remembered.
- Motor reproduction is the ability of observer to perform the behaviour.
- Motivation is the will to perform behaviour, dependant on whether it is rewarded or punished.
