Ionic Bonding

Elements have only one type of atom in their structure.

These atoms can react with one another.

Compound - A substance where the atoms of two or more elements are chemically combined.

Chemical bond - Transferring or sharing electrons in outermost shell.

Ionic bond is where a metal and non-metal combine.

When the electron is lost from the metal to the non-metal. They both become Ions!

If an electron is lost, it becomes positively charged amd if ones gained, it becomes negatively charged.
