Hess's Law: the total enthalpy change of a reaction is INDEPENDENT of the route taken.

Standard Enthalpy of Reaction: the enthalpy change when a reaction occurs in the molar quantities as shown in the chemical equation under standard conditions of 298K and 1 atm pressure.

Standard Enthalpy of Formation: the enthalpy change when 1 mole of a compound is formed
