There are two types of seismic waves:
- P-waves move quickly through solid crust and liquid core.
- S-waves only move slowly through the solid crust.
P-waves:
- They are longitudinal waves, which means the particles vibrate along the direction of motion of the wave.
- They travel faster than S-waves.
- They refact as density changes.
