If something comes near your face, you automatically blink, this type of action is called a reflex.

Reflexes are very important for both humans and animals, they help to avoid danger and harm because they happen so fast. There are lots of reflexes which take care of basic body functions such as breathing.

There are three types of neurone involved

1) sensory neurones

2) motor neurones

3) relay neurones
