Carbon Dioxide + Water ---------> Glucose + Oxgen


Light energy is absorbed by the chloropyll in the chloroplasts. This energy is then  used to convert carbon dioxide from the air plus water fom the soil into a simple sugar called glucose. The chemical reacton also produces oxygen gas. This is released into the air.
