Photosynthesis
This is the process that converts sunlight into chemical energy.
Cholorphyl is a green pigment that captures and absorbes light energy and is found in chloroplasts. Chloroplasts are found in the palisade layer of cells, that is inside leaves.
The equation for photosynthesis is:
Water + Carbon Dioxide ------> Glucose + Oxygen
6 H20 + 6 CO2 -------> C6H12O2 + 6 O2
The rate of Photosynthesis in a plant is affected by:
- Temperature
The higher the temperature the higher the rate of transpiration in a plant
- CO2 concentration
